PALETTE and PENCIL Plus
The Palette and Pencil Plus Guild welcomes artists of all levels to join our vibrant and supportive community.
Our members currently include artists working with pastel, collage, printing, photography, and mixed media. Members have access to the Cedarvale Cottage any time on Tuesdays. This also includes the use of our etching press.
Our group gatherings are usually held at the Cedarvale Cottage on Tuesday afternoons from 1 to 3 pm, and on Tuesday evenings from 6:00/6:30 - 8:00pm. These provide opportunities to interact with other artists, develop your skills, try new things, or work independently on your own projects.
If you like painting please contact us for more information.
History
Frank C. Black, a landscape painter who lived in Georgetown for 36 years, founded the Palette and Pencil Club in 1965 during his retirement years. It fulfilled his need to work with other artists and to develop his talent for teaching. Frank Black died in 1988 but his joy in creating art has survived. Over the years hundreds of people have joined our group to paint and to share their skills and knowledge with one another. The present day group is an integral part of the Credit Valley Artisans and works out of the Artisans' Cottage in Cedarvale Park, Georgetown.
